Shoshana Kaminsky |
Welcome to Beit Shalom Synagogue! This little-congregation-that could is surely one of the most unique synagogues around: a small group of incredibly dedicated people who have pooled their talents and passions to create a sacred community. Nearly every aspect of life at Beit Shalom is special and has a sense of the holy.
Visitors are immediately struck at how musical our services are. Our small choir sings in four-part harmony, and synagogue members always join in enthusiastically.
Our ark and Torahs wear covers created by our embroidery committee. Following a bar/bat mitzvah or other special service, we may be treated to a festive Kiddush luncheon catered by our catering committee. Beit Shalom members are serious about lifelong learning and embrace opportunities for continued intellectual and spiritual growth. And of course, they gather for social occasions as well.
As the rabbi of Beit Shalom, I play a number of roles. I lead services on Shabbat and the holidays, teach classes, lead monthly Torah study, visit members, and am active part of the larger Jewish community. In particular, I am proud to be a part of this dynamic, commmitted community.!
